  1. Interviewer: Joey Lemus is a 17-years-old- basketball player who recently signed a contract with the New York Suns.
    Joey is originally from Venezuela, but he came to the USA when he was 12 years old. Joey began playing basketball when he was only four. Joey, how are you today?
  2. Joey: I'm fine.
  3. Interviewer: Joey, what are some of the differences between basketball in Venezuela and basketball here in the USA?
  4. Joey: Well, the main difference is that everyone over here is a lot taller. At first it was difficult for me, but when I turned 13, I began to grow. I'm two meters tall at the moment, which is not that tall for a basketball player, but I can still compete with the best of them. The other difference is that the facilities here in the USA are a lot better than they are in Venezuela.
  5. Interviewer: What does it feel like now that you are a professional player?
  6. Joey: It feels great. I'm really happy and I look forward to playing my first pro game next month.
  7. Interviewer: So what are you doing at the moment? Training?
  8. Joey: Yes, lots of training, and getting used to New York.
  9. Interviewer: You moved from LA right?
  10. Joey: That's right.
  11. Interviewer: Is there anything you miss about LA?
  12. Joey: Well, I miss my family and of course the weather, but otherwise I'm really happy here in New York.
  13. Interviewer: One more question Joey: What do you do to relax?
  14. Joey: I play basketball. And I also like playing Guitar Hero and listening to music. My favorite music is hip hop.
  15. Interviewer: Thanks for talking to us. Joey.
