Conversation

Mary: Hi Mom, it's Mary. I'm in Madrid at the moment. I missed my connection so I'm going to be stuck here for a few hours.
Mom: That's terrible. Are you OK? What happened?
Mary: Well, the flight was delayed in New York so we arrived late in Madrid and I didn't make the connection.
Mom: Oh, dear.
Mary: Yeah. The flight from New York was a disaster. There was no room in the overhead compartments and I sat next to a crying baby for 8 hours.
But I'm fine. The airline has been really helpful.
Mom: I hope so. You'd better ask for some sort of refund or at least a voucher for some food.
Mary: I have one already. They also gave me one for a hotel, too. And I already have the boarding pass for a flight tomorrow. I'll get to Prague tomorrow afternoon.
Mom: OK, take care of yourself. Make sure you get to the airport early.
Mary: OK, Mom. Anyway, I ought to go now. The bus is leaving for the hotel in five minutes. I'll call you when I get to Uncle Jack's.
Mom: OK, Bye. Sweetheart.
